Botox is FDA-approved to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead lines and platysma bands. Any other use is considered off-label.

Most people 18 years old or older wanting to improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows, crow’s feet, or forehead lines.

Anyone who is allergic to any of the ingredients in Botox (See Medication Guide) or another botulinum toxin product such as Dysport.
Anyone who is pregnant, plans to get pregnant over the next few months or if you are breastfeeding.
Anyone with ALS, Myasthenia gravis, or another muscle/nerve condition.
Anyone on who takes prescription medications should consult with their provider prior to any treatment.
Anyone with a current skin infection at the planned injection site.

As with any medication there are risks. The most common side effects include: bruising and swelling at the injection site. Other side effects include: droopy eyelid or serious adverse reactions like difficulty breathing, or trouble speaking or swallowing.

While it is pretty awesome it can’t do everything! Some wrinkles are so deep they may need something else to help smooth them out.

At the initial appointment, we will go over your past medical history, medications, and your treatment goals to ensure that Botox is right for you. Once areas of concern are determined, a treatment plan will be set. Each area requires a different amount of Botox and a different number of injections in order to treat the appropriate muscles. Then in the same visit we will do your injections. if there are no conflicts.

Treatment: The injections may feel like a pinch. There is minimal downtime and you can usually return to your daily routine after the appointment.

You may notice some changes within 24-36 hours but usually it takes 5-8 days to see a noticeable difference and full results will be in 30 days. It can last up to 4 months depending the severity of your lines.

Not at all! Botox can be used for anyone who wants to enhance their appearance.

Botox is sold by the number of units used to treat and will vary from person to person depending on the strength of the muscle being treated. It will take more than one unit to treat any area. Some minimum guidelines: 6 units for the frown between your eyes, 12 units for the forehead and 12 units for the crow’s feet. Again, these are the least amount for each area that would likely be used. However, it is based on each individual and the strength of their muscles. It’s best to schedule a consultation to go over your goals and see what is best for you!
